Hey Gang!

Happy International Women’s Day for 2019.

Today we celebrate the cultural, social, economic and political  achievements of women throughout history and across all nations. It’s also a day to acknowledge how far we still have to go to achieve gender parity. For me, it’s not a day for male bashing rather a day to mark the call to action to bridge the gap that STILL exists and to raise awareness through education and communication for equality. Let’s support and raise each other up, giving people the space and opportunity to flourish. Let there be no bounds or limitations placed upon us, regardless of status, race or gender.

Looking back when the challenges for women were much tougher than they are today, it’s inspiring and humbling to see what some incredible women were able to achieve – Pankhurst, Franklin, Angelou, Goodall and many more! Let’s also celebrate ALL women, for their tenacity, sacrifice and achievements, which have shaped the world in many ways both great and small.

Let’s take the opportunity today to thank all the wonderful women in our own lives. I’d like to thank all the amazing women I was so fortunate to grow up around, especially my mum, you have made me the women I am today.

I am grateful.

Emmeline Pankhurst – “I would rather be a rebel than a slave.”
Rosalind Franklin – “Science and everyday life cannot and should not be separated.“
Maya Angelou – “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.”
Jane Goodall – “Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play.
Every individual makes a difference.”
