Milan fashion week was all about colour trends and relaxed utility wear, almost taking a side step away from what the Italian fashion week is usually synonymous with, sex and glamour, though there were some bare skinned beauties that grace the runways.  This fashion week had a strong youthful consideration and progressiveness that has paid attention to the world around us.

With a few of my favourite Italiano’s missing from the schedule, the big time guys still made an impact this Spring/Summer season in Milan. Alberta Ferretti presented a relaxed new look collection, a deviation from her pretty frock identity, Miuccia Prada showcased one of my favourite collections, bringing all things retro and surfer chic to the runway, Marni was another highlight for me, the collection presented was as if an artist’s studio came to life with painting and sculpture being a source of inspiration for Francesco Risso, Fendi was all things utilitarian, of course with sophisticated glamour (if that’s even possible), Dolce and Gabanna had a star-studded model cast with the likes of Monica Bellucci and Carla Bruni and Jeremy Scott’s collection for Moschino certainly was art in motion.

Like my previous Fashion Week posts for New York and London, my top ten trends below are all based on what was seen across many of the runways…majority rules as they say!
